Best for planned, cost-sensitive volume. Slower transit (typically 2-6 weeks port-to-port) but the lowest cost per unit for large shipments, with FCL and LCL options depending on cargo volume.
Local customs requirements, port-specific documentation, and trade-lane guidance vary by origin and destination — your account team can walk you through what applies to your specific shipment.
Ocean freight forwarding is the coordination of cargo shipped by sea — booking, documentation, and tracking — between an origin and destination port, handled on your behalf so you don't have to manage carriers directly.
Full-container (FCL) and less-than-container (LCL) bookings, route and carrier selection, customs clearance, and inland transportation to complete the door-to-door journey.
Cargo insurance, dangerous goods certification, temperature-controlled handling, and warehousing at either end of the journey can all be added to a standard booking.
LCL (less-than-container load) lets you ship cargo that doesn't fill a full container by sharing space with other shipments, priced by volume instead of by container.
Transit time depends on the trade lane, but most major routes run 2-6 weeks port-to-port. Your account team can give you a lane-specific estimate when you request a quote.
Ocean freight is slower than air and more exposed to schedule shifts from weather or port congestion — it suits planned, cost-sensitive volume rather than urgent, time-critical shipments.
